Week of Caring: Monday

Watch our campaign video below to learn more about the United Way and our impact on the community BECAUSE OF YOU.

Take a few minutes to look over United Way’s Interactive Brochure:

Did you know that the United Way is a partner to so many agencies in town?  Did you know about the internal programs that United Way runs, such as Imagination Library, Holiday Gifts for Kids, Backpack Buddies, and Coats for the Community?  What program speaks most to you?  Has your family or business volunteered for one of United Way’s programs?  If so, what was the experience like?

Talk about cold weather and the fun things that can be done in it (ice skating, sledding, building a snow man, ice fishing, etc.).  Sing (or say) the song “Once there was a snowman” (words below) doing the actions described.  See video example here.

(Start by holding your arms above your head like the top of snowman)

Once there was a snowman, snowman, snowman,

Once there was a snowman tall, tall, tall. (go up on your tippy toes)

Then the sun it melted, melted, melted, (slowly start to “melt” towards the ground)

Then the sun it melted small, small, small. (end up on the floor “melted”)

Come together with your family/workplace to collect winter items and donate them to the United Way. Donated items will be distributed to families and individuals in need. Quality boots, snow pants, hats, gloves, scarves, mittens of all sizes are appreciated.
