The Someone Special program provides an opportunity for organizations, businesses, or groups, to recognize up to two volunteers every year who have contributed their time and talents to the betterment of the organization.
United Way of Bemidji Area in partnership with Paul Bunyan Broadcasting, The Bemidji Pioneer, and Ken K Thompson Jewelry have run this program for 36 years. Over this time 500+ volunteers have been recognized for their outstanding volunteer efforts in the Bemidji area.
Volunteers are recognized during the month of June on Paul Bunyan Broadcasting morning shows, in The Bemidji Pioneer with a picture and article, and with a personalized plaque from Ken K Thompson Jewelry.
