Community Investment Cabinet

Twenty community volunteers are elected by the United Way Board of Directors to serve a 3-year term, with the option to renew for a second 3-year term. Volunteers serve on one of three teams: Healthy Community, Youth Opportunity, or Financial Security.

Members of the Cabinet are responsible for:

  • Reviewing all financial documents submitted by applicant agencies to ensure financial accountability
  • Reviewing funding applications from local non-profits
  • Completing assigned site visits and interviewing agencies
  • Working as a team to make funding recommendations for approval by the United Way Board of Directors

The cabinet process takes place annually from April through May, with final funding decisions finalized in June.
