UNITED WE GROW

United We Grow is a mentoring program created by Women United to provide leadership and mentoring growth for women in the Bemidji area.  United We Grow is open to the community and we invite you to complete the registration form and profile below to be included in the program.  Women United quarterly breakfasts will focus on leadership, mentoring, and influence during 2024 and we invite all United We Grow mentors and mentees to join us for those breakfasts, either as a Women United member or as a guest.

“Although mentoring is a bit of a buzz word, it was originally used in about 3000 BC to describe someone who was an advisor, guide or trusted companion. The textbook definition today is “the process of helping or guiding another person to support their personal or professional growth.” Simply put, mentoring is about people helping people, and in our case, women helping women. Research has shown that the benefits for the mentor can be as significant as the benefits for the person being mentored. Both people experience greater personal satisfaction and fulfillment, along with several professional factors including improved professional identity, competency, and decreased stress. Our hope is that United We Grow can help develop women leaders who are resilient, confident, capable, and optimistic about the future of our community.”
