The United Way of Bemidji Area will host its 2nd Annual United Way Fishing Tournament Kids Edition on Sunday, June 14, 2026, from 8 AM to 12 PM, presented by Lueken’s Village Foods.
Open to youth ages 0 to 15, this catch and release tournament invites participants to fish on any public lake in Beltrami County with adult supervision. An awards ceremony will follow at 1 PM at Cameron Park.
Youth anglers will compete for the biggest fish by length in three categories: walleye, bass, and bluegill. Trophies, donated by Pine Valley Trophy Case, will be awarded for top catches, and all participants will be entered into prize drawings. Each angler may submit up to five fish of any species.
Additional bonus prizes will be awarded for fun categories including Best Angler Outfit, Best Team Spirit, Lucky 11 (the eleventh fish of the day), Funniest Fish Face, Weirdest Fish, and Best Boat Setup.
In a boat, with an oar, or fish from shore, youth anglers have the chance to win a Lifetime Fishing License and other great prizes.
The registration fee is $50 per youth angler. Register online at www.uwfishingbemidji.com. During registration, participants can select one of several local youth organizations to support. Half of each registration fee will benefit the selected organization, with the remaining proceeds supporting the United Way of Bemidji Area.
Partnering youth organizations include the Bemidji Girls Fastpitch Softball Association, Bemidji Lumberjack Fishing Team, Bemidji Youth Baseball Association, Bemidji Youth Clay Target Association, Bemidji Youth Hockey Association, and Bemidji Youth Soccer Association.
All youth must be registered in advance and accompanied by an adult. Participants must fish on public waters within Beltrami County and follow all Minnesota fishing and boating regulations.
