Evergreen Youth & Family Services is a community-based organization committed to strengthening youth, preserving families and building relationships with an emphasis on those living in Northern Minnesota.

Evergreen Youth Crisis Shelter
Provides crisis shelter for youth ages 9-17 who are homeless, runaways, or experiencing personal or family crisis. On-site family coaching and support is free for area children, youth and families. The Shelter also operates a 35-day Evaluation Program and is home to the Bemidji Suicide Program and Bemidji Rock Sober.

Evergreen's Youth Services
Provides supportive housing, youth and family counseling, street outreach, mentoring, and independent living skills to area youth, young adults, and families. The Bemidji Youth Advisory Commission and the Bemidji Skate and Bike Association are also part of our EYS programs.

Volunteers can either serve at the Evergreen Crisis Shelter Program or at the Evergreen Youth Services Program. Volunteers will get the opportunity to experience what it is like to work in youth intervention. There are a variety of opportunities for volunteers within the organization such as working directly with youth, participating in off-ground activities, sitting in on group learning sessions and much more. Volunteers can even get the opportunity to help behind the scenes to support the mission by helping with such things as meal preparation, shelter maintenance, and gardening. We are also seeking dedicated individuals to assist with case management needs.
