Senior Community Clean-Up Day
Each year dozens of senior citizens from the Bemidji area seek help with raking their yards, cleaning gutters and installing storm windows in preparation for winter.  In response to this need,  Northwoods Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers, Bemidji Area Council of Nonprofits/Community Resource Connections, Kinship North, Disability Linkage Line, and the United Way of Bemidji Area have come together to plan the annual “Senior Community Clean Up Day ”.  In 2009, over 80 seniors were helped with these chores and over 350 volunteers came to call with rakes in hand.

The 2010 “Senior Community Clean Up Day” will be held on a Saturday in October (date TBA).  Senior citizens 60 years of age and better or people living with a disability that reside within the city limits of Bemidji may participate.  Priority will be given to those who are homebound or are physically unable to perform the work themselves.  To request services please call 333-8261.  To volunteer on that day, please call 333-8266. All are welcome to come join the fun!
