Holiday Gifts for Kids

The “Holiday Gifts for Kids Program” is a special community event for United Way of Bemidji Area and the event planning committee.  It is co-sponsored by RP Broadcasting and caring community volunteers who help organize the event.

Each year children who are less fortunate than others get the opportunity to receive a gift.  Parents or legal guardians are required to sign-up to participate, and on the distribution
day they get the chance to "shop" for a gift for their child. In addition, each child received a storybook and a bag of school supplies and each family received a board game.  Over 1197 children were given a gifts with the help of over 20 volunteer "elves".

The distribution day for 2008 will be held at the National Guard Armory Tuesday, December 16.. Registration forms to participate will be available in November.  Registration forms will be available at Bi-County CAP (2529 15th St. NW), Community Resource Connections (616 America Ave. Suite 170), First National Bank Bemidji (502 Minnesota Ave. NW), and United Way of Bemidji Area (201 3rd St. NW, second floor).  For further details please contact United Way at (218) 444-8929.

A BIG thanks goes to co-sponsor RP Broadcasting and its employees who camped out for four days to help raise money and toys for the program.
