Holiday Gifts for Kids Program
Do you remember the excitement and joy you felt as a child on Christmas morning? You have the opportunity to give that excitement and joy to a child in the Bemidji area who might otherwise go without this Christmas. By donating to the Holiday Gifts for Kids program: you help alleviate the financial stress many low income working parents or people living in poverty face during the holiday season; you are giving a child the opportunity to experience the spirit of Christmas; and you are providing memories that will last a lifetime.
The Holiday Gifts for Kids program provides children, ages 0-16, that reside within the Bemidji area school district, with an age appropriate toy. More than 1100 children take part in the program each year. All children must be pre-registered and meet the program's guidelines prior to participating.

A
bout the Holiday Gifts for Kids program

The “Holiday Gifts for Kids Program” is a special community event for United Way of Bemidji Area and the event planning committee.  It is co-sponsored by RP Broadcasting and caring community volunteers who help organize the event.

Each year more than 1100 children, ages 0-16, experience a joyful Christmas thanks to the generosity and kindness of others.   Parents or legal guardians are required to sign-up to participate in the Holiday Gifts for Kids program, and on the distribution
day they get the chance to "shop" for a gift for their child. In addition, each family will receives a board game.

The distribution day for 2010 will be announced at a later date. Registration forms to participate will be available in November 2010..  Registration forms will be available at Bi-County CAP (2529 15th St. NW), Community Resource Connections (616 America Ave. Suite 170), First National Bank Bemidji (502 Minnesota Ave. NW), and United Way of Bemidji Area (201 3rd St. NW, second floor).  For further details please contact United Way at (218) 444-8929.
